Job Title: Product Support Engineer

Organization: Engineering department

Report to: Engineering and CI manager

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the implementation and improvement of the manufacturing process at SSG site. This includes activities related to process development, validation, standardization and documentation for new product or process, and maintenance of existing process (Printing, cutting, grinding, cleaning and packaging) to meet our business requirement by utilizing process management methodologies, like PFMEA, DOE, 5W1H.

How will you make an impact?

As a key role working with cross-functional teams, to focus on process management and continuous improvement. Meanwhile, work as the partner to support new product or process introduction, validation and make it stable.

What will you do?

  • Lead implementation of new process or product into production, focus on validation(DOE) to dig out key parameters in each process or equipment based on product specification.

  • Define BOM, routing, drawing, label template, packaging method and work instruction for each product.

  • Lead the Engineering change process to validate and verify the changes.

  • Prepare and keep work instruction up-to-date. Work with production line to provide technical support, problem solving for current process, and training for operators.

  • Seek for new manufacturing knowledge and skills to make process stable and efficient.

  • Fully participate in CI with daily Gemba walk, visual management and support for production objectives, including schedule execution, material flow tracking, downtime analysis, production line startup, SMED, etc.

  • Production layout, capacity planning and balancing based on VSM.

  • Perform on other projects as assigned.

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor of science degree in chemistry or material science (glass) with 5-8 working experience in medical industry, and have experience in printing, washing, cutting and packaging process.

  • Have experience in new process or new product development, and have ability for validation and verification by utilizing different methodologies, such as FMEA, DOE, Gauge R-R, statistical control, etc.

  • Must have excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills to quick fix the problem.

  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement, focus on safety, quality, productivity improvement to stabilize the current process.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills in English and the ability to work with cross-functional project teams.

  • Familiar with value stream mapping to improve the flow of material, information and others. AutoCAD, Microsoft Office is required.

  • Have knowledge in Glass manufacturing, ISO system, Automation would be preferred.

  • Project Management skill would be better.
